Ivo Trešl (STAN) is the senator for the Louny district.[1] By his own account, he is a physician by profession.[2]
2026 Senate elections
In the first round of the 2026 Senate elections, the incumbent Trešl won 43.5 percent of the vote according to ČT24 and advanced to the second round, where he will face Jaroslav Mikoláš (ANO), who received 25.55 percent. Turnout was 41.45 percent and six people ran.[1] Trešl said the result surprised him and that he had expected a closer contest.[3] In the second round he counts on the support of former rivals Leo Steiner (JsmePRO!) and Ivana Hluštíková (Zelení + Czech Pirate Party), with whom, according to him, he agreed on mutual support.[1][3]
In the campaign, he says, he focuses on accessible health care and the operation of the two hospitals in the region, on keeping young people in the region, and on drought and falling groundwater levels.[2]
