On 5 October 2026 the South Bohemian Regional Court opened insolvency proceedings against the football club Dynamo České Budějovice. According to the petition, the third-tier club owes three parties about CZK 850,000, as shown by data in the insolvency register.[1][2]
Petition and creditors
The insolvency petition was filed by a company that provided catering services to the club. The petitioner states that the club owes it more than CZK 240,000 for an order from 2024 and that it offered to settle the debt through advertising, which according to the company the club did not fulfil. According to the petition, the club owes almost CZK 600,000 to its former coach and a lower sum to a creditor that provided graphic services to the club.[1][2] In the opening of the proceedings the court calls on the debtor's creditors who wish to assert claims to file a proof of claim with the insolvency court.[1][2]
Position of the club
The club was bought in 2025 by its current owner, and most of the liabilities arose before that. Dynamo played in the second league last season, but for the current season it did not obtain a licence for that competition from the Football Association of the Czech Republic. In the third league it stands second, behind the leaders Domažlice, after nine rounds.[1][2]
Background
According to the Czech News Agency, the city of České Budějovice intended to buy the club from the owner; she refused, and the city terminated her contract on the use of the city stadium, where Dynamo may play until the end of April 2027. The South Bohemian Region then proposed to the owner that it buy the club for CZK 32.5 million, which she refused.[1][3]
