On the evening of Sunday 27 September 2026, a fire broke out in a panel block of flats on Kotorská street in the Prague district of Nusle. Firefighters were dispatched at around 6:00 p.m. and declared the second degree of fire alarm out of four. According to Vojtěch Rotschedl, spokesman for the Prague firefighters, the fire first hit a flat on the seventh floor and spread to the flat one floor above [3].
Firefighters evacuated several people from the building and rescued one person directly from the burning flat and handed them over to paramedics [1][3]. Shortly after 6:30 p.m. they announced that the fire had been localised, that is, its spread had been stopped [3].
The ambulance service treated one person with a minor injury, a first-degree burn on an upper limb. Paramedics checked another ten people for possible smoke inhalation, and the result was negative, said Karel Kirs, spokesman for the Prague ambulance service [1][2].
