Eva Pavlová is the wife of President Petr Pavel, described in the media as the first lady.[1]
On 6 October 2026 she published a post on Instagram about the municipal elections. In it she wrote that the state had for the first time set their date directly by law, but had done nothing to allow people to vote more flexibly from abroad or from another place in Czechia where they work, study or stay. The post appeared at a time of criticism of President Pavel, who will not take part in the elections to the municipal council in Černouček because of a private trip abroad.[1][2]
Interior Minister Lubomír Metnar (ANO) rejected on the network X that the electoral system should be changed because of the date of the president's holiday. MP Jana Černochová (ODS) called Pavlová's reproach inaccurate, because in her view it does not correspond to how municipal elections work. Prague Castle spokesman Daniel Drake said it was a civic stance of the first lady, to which she has a right.[3][4]
