EssilorLuxottica is one of the world's largest makers of eyewear and optical products. It was formed in 2018 through the merger of the Italian company Luxottica, founded by Leonardo Del Vecchio, with the French firm Essilor.[1] Its portfolio includes the Ray-Ban and Oakley brands.[1]
Almost a third of the group's shares and a controlling stake are held by the Luxembourg holding Delfin, which manages the assets of the Del Vecchio family.[2] Citing a letter, Bloomberg reported on 29 October 2026 that the businessman Michal Strnad, owner of the arms group CSG, had offered roughly 30 billion euros, about 730 billion crowns, for the Delfin holding. [3]
According to the letter dated 20 October 2026, the offer values Delfin at a 30 percent discount to net asset value, is valid for thirty days, and the transaction would require the consent of all eight shareholders of the holding. [3]
