On 30 October 2026, the programme 360° on CNN Prima NEWS discussed the possible effects of abolishing television and radio fees, which according to FORUM 24 the governing coalition of ANO, SPD and the Motorists is pushing for. The debate between MP Jindřich Rajchl and the first deputy chairman of KDU-ČSL, Benjamin Činčila, grew into a verbal clash [1].

Course of the debate

Rajchl defended voluntary payment of the fees and compared it to a motorway vignette. Činčila disagreed. In his view, public-service television serves the whole of society, not only individual viewers according to their personal preferences [1].

Rajchl claimed that some external collaborators of Czech Television have overpriced contracts and that the institution does not manage its money transparently enough. He called them "parasites" who draw eight billion crowns. The presenter, Pavlína Wolfová, called for people working as self-employed contractors not to be described that way. Činčila reproached Rajchl: "You are behaving like a lout." [1]

Reactions after the programme

On social media, Činčila described Rajchl's way of communicating as unacceptable and said that the Christian Democrats want politics that brings hope instead of hatred. On Facebook, Rajchl repeated his opposition to the fees, which he called an outdated relic [1].
