Marcela Antošová, a longtime editor and presenter at the Brno studio of Czech Radio, has died at the age of 76. News of her death was published on 7 October 2026 by Czech Radio Brno. According to the station, the death was confirmed by her family, who said goodbye to her in a small circle [1][2].

Work in radio

Antošová studied sociology and spent her entire working life at Brno radio. She began in the editorial office for children and young people, and later prepared other programmes, among them Mikrofórum, the cycle Dveře dokořán and the programme Host do domu. After 1990 she headed the Brno studio's editorial office for independent radio production, in which programmes such as Apetýt and Rendez-vous were made [1][2].

She last broadcast from the studio on the first floor of the radio building in November 2018 [1]. The radio placed her name among the important figures in the history of Brno broadcasting [1].
