The Jedno Ústí coalition, which won the municipal elections in Ústí nad Labem, will govern without further partners, according to its leader Tomáš Vohryzka. It holds 22 of the 37 seats in the city council. Vohryzka, the coalition's independent leader and the current director of the municipal services, is to become mayor.[1][2]

“From the voters we received a strong mandate to finally put this city back on its feet.”

Vohryzka[2]

Opposition

The ANO movement, which led the city for eight years, is going into opposition; its representation fell from 13 to six councillors. The opposition will also include ODS, the coalition of SPD and Motoristé sobě backed by Přísaha and Trikolora, and the grouping Vaše Ústí backed by Za lepší Střekov.[1][2]

City leadership

The council is to have nine members, as before. Of three deputy mayors, two are to be full-time, that is, performing the function full-time. The first deputy mayor is to be Karolína Žákovská, the others Petr Křivan and Zdenka Černá. The full-time councillors are to be Jan Beneš and Vladimír Kozák, the part-time ones Pavel Vlach, Jan Hrouda and Jan Kvasnička. The finance committee is to be chaired by Lukáš Pokorný for Jedno Ústí, and the coalition will offer the chair of the audit committee to the second strongest grouping, that is, ANO.[1]

At a press conference on 14 October 2026 Vohryzka said that Jedno Ústí does not want to carry out any purges. The position of the secretary of the municipal office will be evaluated after three months, he said. Milan Stýblo is to represent the mayor at the municipal services. The inaugural meeting of the council is to be held by 6 November 2026 at the latest, unless the election results are challenged in court.[1][2]

According to Novinky.cz, Vohryzka said after the election: "From the voters we received a strong mandate to finally put this city back on its feet."[2]
