On 12 October 2026 the ANO movement in Pardubice continued coalition talks even after STAN left the negotiations, and wanted to focus on talks with ODS.

The mayor of Pardubice, Jan Nadrchal (ANO), continued on 12 October 2026 to negotiate a coalition that would hold a majority in the council. After the STAN movement withdrew from talks with ANO and Žijeme Pardubice, he wanted to focus on ODS, with which, in his view, a stable majority could be formed. He said so to the Czech News Agency.[1]
STAN's withdrawal
STAN leader Daniel Vondra announced on the evening of Sunday 11 October that the movement was withdrawing from the planned coalition with ANO and was negotiating with other groups represented in the council. He wanted to announce the final coalition soon. STAN councillor Anežka Nedomová said that she would go into opposition if a coalition agreement with ANO and Žijeme Pardubice were made. Nadrchal said that he perceives STAN as having leaned towards the Czech Pirate Party because of a stronger negotiating position, and that he therefore wants to negotiate primarily with ODS. ODS leader Ondřej Tichý said that the party wanted to decide that day with whom it would negotiate. Deputy mayor Jakub Rychtecký (Žijeme Pardubice) expected talks with ODS and with Progresivní Pardubice and STAN.[1]
Nadrchal was not averse to talks with Progresivní Pardubice either; a preliminary meeting with their representatives had been arranged for the afternoon.[1]
Distribution of seats
ANO won the election with ten seats, ODS has seven, Žijeme Pardubice and STAN five each, Progresivní Pardubice and Naše Pardubice four each, and SPD and Noví lidovci two each. A coalition of STAN without ANO and Žijeme Pardubice would have to unite five groups, that is, besides STAN also ODS, Progresivní Pardubice, Noví lidovci and Naše Pardubice, and would have 22 votes out of 39. Nadrchal said that mathematically this would work out.[1]
