Representatives of five groupings signed a coalition agreement on the evening of Wednesday, 21 October 2026, for the assembly of the Prague 1 borough. The agreement was concluded by ODS, Starostové with the Christian Democrats (KDU-ČSL supported by Iniciativa občanů), TOP 09 – Srdce Prahy, ANO and Nezávislí z Jedničky. The coalition holds 17 of 27 seats, and the winning grouping Praha 1 sobě, as after the 2022 elections, remains in opposition.[1][2]
Election result
Praha 1 sobě won seven seats, ODS five, Starostové with the Christian Democrats and TOP 09 four each, the Czech Pirate Party three, and ANO and Nezávislí z Jedničky two each. Neither the winning Praha 1 sobě nor the Pirates joined the coalition. The shape of the coalition was decided by TOP 09, to which the winner had offered a joint coalition with the Pirates.[2]
Leadership of the town hall
Under the agreement, the office of mayor is to remain with Terezie Radoměřská, nominated by TOP 09 – Srdce Prahy. The council is to have nine members; among them are Michal Müller (ODS) and Petr Hejma (STAN), who, in his own words, gave up his claim to the post of mayor. The formation of the borough's leadership will be a matter for decision by the assembly, whose inaugural session is to take place during November.[1]
The coalition agreement divides responsibilities among the members of the council, among others in the areas of security, education, finance, property management, transport, culture and heritage protection. Programme priorities are to be set out in a programme statement, which the borough council is to approve after the inaugural session of the assembly.[1]
