Černá cesta is a housing estate in Olomouc by the embankment of the Morava (river). The zoning plan envisages the construction of a small residential block at this site, as stated by Tomáš Pejpek (ProOlomouc), deputy to the mayor of Olomouc [2].
Dům družby
The estate contains the former community centre of the Soviet army Dům družby, built between 1972 and 1974 for Soviet soldiers and their families who lived on a nearby estate [1]. New development with flats, shops and services is planned on its site. Its form is to be decided by an urban-architectural competition, to be announced at the beginning of December 2026 [1][2]. The competition is to have two rounds and its winner should be known in summer 2027. [2] The competition covers land of 4,970 square metres, owned by and developed by Galerie Hradisko, part of the o'home development group. [2]
The adjoining public spaces are also to be addressed, including the Orlák playground and Sokolovská street, pavements and cycle paths [1][2]. The public can fill in an online questionnaire on the Nová Černá cesta website until 8 November 2026 [1][2]. A meeting in the building of the former Družba centre is planned for 3 November 2026. [1]
