Tomáš Tichý is a manager in information technology and the digitalisation of public administration. He won the selection procedure for director of the state enterprise Národní agentura pro komunikační a informační technologie (NAKIT). According to Lupa.cz, his appointment must be discussed by the government committee for personnel nominations, which is due to meet on 13 October 2026.[1]
Career
According to NAKIT, since 2020 he has worked at the state enterprise CENDIS as ICT director and deputy director of the enterprise. Before that he spent over three years at Vítkovice IT Solutions, first as a programmer and later as a technical project manager. He studied informatics at the University of Pardubice.[1]
NAKIT stated that Tichý has experience in managing complex projects in information and communication technologies, in developing and operating key information systems of public administration and in leading expert teams.[1] According to NAKIT, as director he wants to draw on his experience of building a technology organisation, delivering large digitalisation projects and linking technologies with the needs of the state and its citizens.[1][2]
Assessment
Lukáš Klučka, the government commissioner for digitalisation and strategic security and first deputy minister of the interior, described Tichý as a very high-quality candidate who, in his view, meets the prerequisites for the further development of NAKIT.[1][2]
