Národní agentura pro komunikační a informační technologie (NAKIT) is a state enterprise that was founded in 2016 as a service organisation of the Ministry of the Interior.[2][3] It supplies services mainly to this ministry.[1]
Activities
The agency offers services in information and communication technologies through more than forty regional offices. Its remit includes, among other things, the conceptual development of critical communication infrastructure and secure shared services of the state.[2][3]
Leadership
Jan Ďoubal, whom the government dismissed from the head of the agency, led it from March 2023.[3] Tomáš Tichý, the winner of the selection procedure, is to become the new director. Before the appointment, the government committee for personnel nominations must still give its opinion on him; its meeting is planned for 13 October 2026.[1][3]
NAKIT describes Tichý as an experienced manager in IT and the digitalisation of public administration. Since 2020 he was ICT director and deputy director at the state enterprise CENDIS. Earlier he spent more than three years at Vítkovice IT Solutions, first as a programmer and then as a technical project manager. He studied information technology at the University of Pardubice.[1] The government commissioner for digitalisation Lukáš Klučka said of the selection that a number of candidates with great hopes did not advance to the second round, and expressed his conviction that Tichý would bring expertise and build on the work done so far.[1][2]
