The Státní fond audiovize is an institution whose body is the board; the fund also has a council. It supports audiovisual production and the development of the games industry and animation. [3] It announces grant calls and keeps a register of awarded film incentives. [1][2]

Petr Dvořák, elected by the Ministry of Culture, had been chairman of the board since June 2025. Minister of Culture Oto Klempíř announced his dismissal on 27 October 2026. [1][2]

In October 2026 the government did not approve the draft budget of the fund for 2027. The minister demanded that planned support be cut by about CZK 400 million, while the board insisted on CZK 787.5 million, the amount it agreed on in September when approving the short-term concept for 2027. The fund stated that under the rules in force the minimum subsidy from the state budget for 2027 is CZK 228 million. [1][3]

According to the minister, without an approved budget the fund will operate in a budget provisional regime until the end of the year, in which it may spend at most one twelfth of its 2026 budget per month. The ministry has an overview of the fund's commitments for 2026 to 2028 totalling about CZK 3.5 billion and stated that film incentives already awarded are not at risk. [1][2]
