Radka Šimková is the leader of the group Praha 5 sobě and a former mayor of Prague 5.[1] The group ran in the 2026 elections together with the Greens and won 22 percent of the vote and ten of the 41 seats.[1][2] So far the district has been run by a coalition of ODS, ANO, TOP 09 and STAN.[2]

Šimková wanted to form a coalition without ODS and ANO from representatives of Praha 5 sobě, STAN, SEN and the Czech Pirate Party, and offered the STAN movement the post of mayor and two seats on the council.[1] According to her, STAN rejected the offer on 18 October 2026 and decided to cooperate with ODS.[1] She also approached the coalition of TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL, which, in her words, showed no interest.[1] Without STAN, Praha 5 sobě does not have enough for a majority in the council and will therefore probably not form a coalition.[2] On 19 October 2026 Šimková said: "We did our utmost, but the politicians decided otherwise."[2]

The council will seat representatives of seven groups: Praha 5 sobě (10 seats), ODS (8), STAN (7), SEN (6), ANO (5), the Czech Pirate Party (3) and the coalition of TOP 09 with KDU-ČSL (2).[2] Praha 5 sobě also won the elections in 2022, when a coalition with the Pirates and SEN was formed, which broke up in 2024.[2]
