The Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem will review proposals for a recount of this year's municipal elections in Moldava in the Ore Mountains and in Habrovany in the Ústí nad Labem area. This follows from information published on the court's official notice board on 20 October 2026. Proposals may be submitted to administrative courts until 23 October.[1][2]

Moldava

The proposal for a review was submitted by Sdružení nezávislých kandidátů 2026. The elections in the municipality, located in the Teplice district, were won by the Moldava pro život grouping of the current mayor David Leitermann, which obtained five seats in the nine-member council. Sdružení nezávislých kandidátů and Hlas obce each have two seats, with 248 valid votes for the former and 175 for the latter. The Green Party failed to win any seats on the council. Shortly before the vote, the mayor had 22 people removed from the list of voters on the grounds that they did not live in the municipality. Several of them turned to the court, which ruled that two of them should be added back to the list, while it rejected the other 17 proposals. Four years ago, the vote in Moldava was repeated following a court decision.[1][2]

Habrovany

The proposal for a review was submitted by an unsuccessful candidate of the Nové Habrovany movement. The elections in the municipality were won by Sdružení nezávislých kandidátů pro Habrovany, which holds four of the five seats on the council.[1][2]

Other petitions

Further petitions regarding the elections were previously received from Most, Chomutov and Kryry in the Louny district. In Most, the proposal concerns the first substitute candidate on the list of the winning ProMost grouping; in Chomutov it was submitted by the leader of the Máme rádi Chomutov movement, who has doubts about the vote count in one polling district.[1][2]
