David Leitermann is the mayor of the municipality of Moldava in the Ore Mountains in Teplice District and represents the group Moldava pro život.
In the municipal elections on 9 October 2026, according to iDNES.cz, 17 of the 147 voters on the list had been struck off. The Czech News Agency reports that the mayor struck off several voters who demanded to vote on election day. According to the agency, the election commission did not let them vote, and the police officers who were called in declined to intervene, citing the election process.
Leitermann stated that before the election unknown people had come to the office with a freshly signed rental contract and wanted to become residents of the municipality. In connection with so-called election tourism he named three addresses, among them a former recreation building on the edge of the municipality.
