Škoda Auto cut production and partly reduced the number of shifts because of problems at a supplier. Employees whose shift was cancelled because of supply chain problems are to be placed on downtime caused by an obstacle on the employer's side, by agreement with the Kovo trade union. [1] The Seznam Zprávy news site reported that the problem concerns wiring harnesses from the Kromberg & Schubert plant in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, and that the cutbacks affect the Enyaq and Elroq models; Škoda Auto neither confirmed nor denied this. [1] A newspaper reported that the cause is a shortage of cable components made in Ukraine, whose deliveries have been held up since Russian attacks on production plants there. [1] According to Boleslavský deník, the cutbacks concern electric-car production in hall M13 in Mladá Boleslav, where night shifts were not worked at the turn of September and October 2026. [1] The carmaker announced this on 1 October 2026[1][2][3].
