At an illegal meet of tuned cars on the turn of 2 and 3 October 2026, the police checked roughly 17 thousand vehicles across the country and imposed speeding fines totalling 2.93 million crowns.

At an illegal meet of tuned cars on the turn of 2 and 3 October 2026, police officers across the country checked roughly 17 thousand vehicles and more than 32 thousand people. They found 1,565 offences involving inappropriate speed and imposed fines for them totalling 2.93 million crowns. A further 749 defects concerned the technical condition of vehicles.[1][2]

Results of the checks

Four vehicles were sent for a technical inspection, and all were assessed as technically unfit. In 14 cases the police retained the vehicle registration certificate. The checks uncovered 51 drivers under the influence of alcohol and 15 drivers after using addictive substances. The police retained 73 driving licences, 27 of them in connection with speeding, and caught 30 people at the wheel without a driving licence.[1]

The police also found 107 offences in overtaking, 69 breaches of the duty to give way and 149 breaches of the rules on driving in lanes. In 19 cases they retained registration plates or used a technical device to prevent the vehicle from leaving. In Olomouc they dealt with drifting by imposing the maximum fine of 10,000 crowns, and imposed the same fine in Brno for the use of pyrotechnics. In one case they seized a drone; the case is to be dealt with by the civil aviation authority.[1]

Course of the meet

According to the Czech News Agency, participants of the meet moved around various places in Prague and central Bohemia on Friday evening and during the night to Saturday, from where they moved on to Brno or Olomouc. Because of the meet, the police deployed 650 patrols on motorways, border crossings and major access roads. According to the agency, the event passed without major incidents.[1]
