The Lusatian Mountains are a mountain range in northern Czechia. Along the border with Germany they form, together with the Ore Mountains and the Labské pískovce Protected Landscape Area, a belt that closes off the territory of the Ústí nad Labem Region.[1] The eastern part of the Lusatian Mountains extends into the Liberec Region.[2]

The Lusatian Mountains are one of the five protected landscape areas of the Liberec Region, alongside České středohoří, the Jizerské hory Protected Landscape Area, the Kokořínsko – Máchův kraj Protected Landscape Area and the Bohemian Paradise.[2]

The municipality of Dolní Podluží in the south of the Šluknov Hook lies partly within the Lusatian Mountains Protected Landscape Area. [3]

In the valley of the Milířka stream, in the municipal territory, there are traces of old mining, where quartz for glassworks was extracted in the 13th century. [3]

The Údolím Milířky mining educational trail is 4.5 kilometres long and, at seven stops, presents the geological conditions around the Lusatian Fault and the history of mining. [3]
