Javorník is a hill near Liberec. On it stand the Obří sud hotel, which is part of the Adventure Park Liberec complex, and next to it a telecommunications mast that has been converted into a lookout tower.[1]

Liberecká Drbna reports that the Obří sud hotel was built in 1899. Twenty-five years later a wooden Blaschka tower was built next to it, which was demolished after the Second World War. The hotel was destroyed by fire in 1974 and returned to the summit in 2011.[1]

The lookout tower was ceremonially opened on 28 October 2026 after a month in trial operation. It is 49.43 metres tall, the platform is at a height of 34.6 metres and 186 steps lead up to it. According to Liberecká Drbna, no other viewing platform in the region rises higher above the terrain. From the platform one can see Český ráj, the Ralsko Upland, the Lusatian and Jizera Mountains, the Ještěd ridge and Liberec. The transmitter on the mast continues to perform its original function.[1]
