The Fraser Institute is a Canadian institute that publishes the Economic Freedom of the World Index (index of economic freedom). The index has been published since 1996.[1]

The index consists of five indicators concerning the size of government, the rule of law, international trade, regulation, and the monetary environment including inflation. Data must be collected from all countries under review, so the index is published with a delay; the October 2026 edition works with data for 2024.[1]

In this edition, the index evaluates 165 countries. Hong Kong ranks first, Venezuela ranks last, and Czechia is in 23rd place, 12 spots higher than in last year's revised ranking. The result was reported by the Institut liberálních studií.[1]
