On 12 October 2026 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic warned against travel to the border areas of Saudi Arabia with Yemen and advised travelling to other parts of the country only in absolutely necessary cases. According to iDNES.cz and Lidovky.cz, the warning followed attacks in the country. Czechs who are in Saudi Arabia are to exercise heightened caution and follow the security situation in local media and official sources.[1][2]

Airports

The ministry sent Czech citizens registered for Saudi Arabia in the Drozd system a recommendation not to go to Riyadh airport or its surroundings and to follow the instructions of the local security forces. They are to exercise caution at all international and domestic airports in the country, check the security situation before travelling and monitor the status of their flight. According to the ministry, significant restrictions on air traffic can be expected in the coming days.[1][2]

Instructions in case of an incident

In a security incident, people should not take or publish photographs or videos from the scene and should follow the instructions of local authorities. In an emergency they can contact the Czech embassy in Riyadh or the ministry's emergency line +420 222 420 222. The ministry recommends that all travellers register in the Drozd system.[1][2]
