On 23 October 2026 the Ministry of Finance announced the departure of Radomír Lašák from the head of Letiště Praha. He took up the post of chairman of the board on 1 August 2026. According to the ministry, the reason is personal. Ministry spokesman David Polák did not say on what date Lašák is leaving.[1]
Next steps
The Ministry of Finance, the company's sole shareholder, is to announce a selection procedure for the vacated position. As early as September 2026 it announced selection procedures for two board members, who are to be responsible for operations, security, finance and corporate services.[1]
Reactions
ODS chairman Martin Kupka described Lašák's tenure as a sign of incompetence and said that his departure weakens the airport. TOP 09 deputy Michal Kučera said that change for the sake of change is not the governance of a state. STAN senator Ondřej Lochman recalled that during Lašák's tenure the directors of internal audit, of administration and management, and of marketing and communication left the airport, and called for an open selection procedure with representatives of the opposition on the committee.[1]
Lašák's arrival was accompanied by criticism, and the trade unions declared a strike alert. In August 2026 three division directors left, and the company commissioned an external forensic audit of the previous management's finances.[1]
