Mayor Jan Nadrchal (ANO) told the Czech News Agency on 12 October 2026 that, after STAN withdrew from the coalition talks in Pardubice, he wants to negotiate mainly with ODS.

The mayor of Pardubice, Jan Nadrchal (ANO), told the Czech News Agency on 12 October 2026 that talks on a coalition with a majority on the council are continuing even after the withdrawal of the STAN movement. He now wants to focus on ODS, with which, in his view, a stable majority could be formed.[2]
STAN's departure
STAN leader Daniel Vondra announced on the evening of Sunday 11 October that the movement was withdrawing from the planned coalition with ANO and Žijeme Pardubice and was negotiating with other groupings elected to the council. He wants to announce the final coalition soon.[2]
Further talks
ODS leader Ondřej Tichý said that the party had wanted to decide on 12 October with whom to continue the talks. Nadrchal was also open to a conversation with the grouping Progresivní Pardubice, with which he had a provisional meeting arranged for the afternoon. Deputy mayor Jakub Rychtecký (Žijeme Pardubice) counted on talks with ODS and with Progresivní Pardubice and STAN.[2]
Distribution of seats
ANO won the elections in Pardubice with ten seats, ODS has seven, Žijeme Pardubice and STAN five each, Progresivní Pardubice and Naše Pardubice four each, and SPD and Noví lidovci two each. According to Nadrchal, a coalition without ANO and Žijeme Pardubice would need five groupings, STAN, ODS, Progresivní Pardubice, Noví lidovci and Naše Pardubice, which together would have 22 votes out of 39.[2]
