From 21 October 2026 the Brno transport company adjusted timetables and introduced a reinforcement tram line P6 because of delays during the closure of the Pisárecký tunel.
Dopravní podnik města Brna announced on 19 October 2026 changes to the timetables of selected lines which, from Wednesday 21 October 2026, are meant to reduce the impact of the closure of the Pisárecký tunel and Tunel Hlinky on the regularity of public transport. The closure of the Pisárecký tunel began on 12 October 2026 and, according to Deník, is to last until Friday 20 November 2026.
The most delayed were trolleybus lines 25, 26 and 37 and bus lines 52, E56 and 68. In the first week of the closure, services were delayed in places by more than 40 minutes, and according to automatic passenger counting data some people switched to trams. On line E56 the number of passengers fell by up to half. By the end of the first week, according to the transport company, delays had fallen to roughly half and the morning and afternoon peaks had shortened to two to three hours.
According to company spokeswoman Hana Tomaštíková, the affected lines will have longer buffer times at terminal stops so that vehicles can keep to departure times. The number of services will therefore be slightly and temporarily reduced. At weekday peaks all services of trolleybus line 37 will run to the Nemocnice Bohunice terminal, which until now only every second or third service reached. Between Mendlovo náměstí and Nemocnice Bohunice, reinforcement tram line P6 will run, intended to offer an alternative also to passengers of line 25.
The company's general director Miloš Havránek said that interventions by dispatchers and traffic control by police officers at junctions in Pisárky are not enough to keep services regular, and the company is therefore taking further measures. Since Monday 19 October 2026 there has also been a dedicated lane for public transport in Antonína Procházky street and a sorting lane in Petra Křivky street. The company discussed the measures with representatives of the police and the Road and Motorway Directorate.
