Carlo Lurago was an architect and builder who contributed to the Baroque appearance of several buildings in Prague.

The National Heritage Institute lists him among the figures who took part in the creation of the Clementinum. Around 1650, together with the sculptor Jan Jiří Bendl, he worked on the interior and façade of the St. Salvator Church in the early Baroque style. The St. Salvator Church itself was built in two stages, in 1578-1582 to a design by Marco Fontana and in 1600-1601, on the basis of the Gothic presbytery of the Dominican church of St. Clement (kostel svatého Klimenta). [1]

He began construction work on the present-day fortifications of Vyšehrad in 1653; from 1656 the construction was led by Gion Decapaoli. The Leopoldova brána, completed by 1672, was probably built to Lurago's design. According to the website of the Czech Grand Priory of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, he was among the architects behind the Baroque reconstruction of the Church of Our Lady beneath the Chain.
