Barbora Šlapetová is a painter, photographer and experimental filmmaker.[2] According to Pražský patriot, she has collaborated with Lukáš Rittstein for thirty years. Since their first journeys to New Guinea the two have long recorded encounters with people from different cultural environments and turned them into sculptures, films, photographs, drawings, animations and happenings.[1]

How to Touch the Sky (Jak se dotknout nebe)

In 2026 the project of Šlapetová and Rittstein was presented at the Biennale Arte in Venice, at the museum of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. For it Šlapetová made a film in a loop 21 minutes long, which maps the authors' shared thirty-year journey; it forms the interior of the film sanctuary.[1][2] From 5 to 18 October 2026 a larger version of the project is freely accessible on the piazzetta in front of the Industrial Palace at Výstaviště Praha.[1][2]
