Project of a swimming sports centre at Šutka
In October 2026 Zábranský, as councillor for property, commented on an architectural study for converting the Šutka sports complex into a swimming sports centre with a fifty-metre pool.[1] According to him, the study was drawn up on the basis of requirements of swimming federations and associations, which lack suitable facilities in Prague for international competitions.[1] He said that the centre could serve both professional athletes and the public.[1]
Zábranský said that Prague wants to negotiate co-financing of the project with the National Sport Agency, because the project exceeds the capital in significance.[1] He added that the current Šutka complex is used only to a small extent.[1]
According to Zábranský, the project is so far at the study stage. If the city decides on its preparation, the drawing up of the project will follow, which may take two to three years, and only after that would the building permit and the construction itself be dealt with.[1] According to him, no decision has yet been made on the method of preparation, for example whether the city will choose the design and build method.[1]
