The Ďáblice housing estate is located in Prague 8, and formally belongs to Kobylisy.[2] According to the Prague 8 district council, it is one of the most significant housing estate complexes in the Czech Republic and is known for its extensive collection of artworks, both on residential buildings and in public space.[1][2]
Prameník
A sculpture called Prameník (The Spring) by sculptor Vladimír Kýn once stood in the park on Famfulíkova Street. According to local residents, it was placed on the estate thanks to the efforts of an architect and the local community, but the work gradually fell into disrepair and its water mechanism stopped functioning. In 2007 the sculpture was gradually dismantled and stolen.[1][2]
The Prague 8 district had a bronze replica made based on photographs and the author's scaled-down model. It was modeled by sculptor Jaromíra Němcová and cast by the HVH foundry.[1][2] It is to return to public space once the necessary infrastructure has been built, since it is a water feature. According to Pražský deník, this will take at least a year, possibly two.[2] Another work, Žabák (The Frog), is also waiting to be installed.[2]
