Vysočany is a locality in Prague 9, located within sight of the Vysočany railway station [1]. On the site of a former brownfield, a complex has been under construction in recent years that its owner, the company PROSPERITA holding, describes as an emerging educational campus [1][2].

Creation of the campus

In 2023 construction began on the building of the Panevropská univerzita, which was completed in 2025 [1]. Miroslav Kurka, chairman of the board of PROSPERITA holding, said that he had described the start of this first construction as the first step in the gradual revitalisation of the area [1][2].

New grammar school building

On Tuesday, 6 October 2026, construction began on the adjacent plot of a new multifunctional building for the grammar school and economics lyceum GAELY, which adjoins the building of the Panevropská univerzita [1]. According to its own statement, the construction is carried out by the company ABP HOLDING, whose chairman of the board, Jiří Procházka, said that the architectural design of the new building would respect the industrial character of the original area and follow on from the neighbouring university building, with a facing-brick façade linking the two structures [1][2].
