Near the village of Sytno in the Tachov region, a car accident occurred shortly before five o'clock in the morning on Saturday, 31 October 2026. After going through a right-hand bend, the driver left the road and crashed head-on into a tree. He suffered injuries incompatible with life and died at the scene.[1][2]
According to regional police spokeswoman Barbora Kunešová, the driver apparently failed to adjust his speed to the conditions. A female passenger was travelling with him in the car; she was injured and taken to a medical facility.[1][2] Traffic on road 605 was restricted in the vicinity of the accident, but the road was later fully reopened.[1]
A forensic autopsy was ordered for the deceased driver. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by Tachov criminal police.[1][2]
