The State Budget of the Czech Republic for 2027 is the government's proposal for the management of state finances, projecting a deficit of CZK 386 billion. The size of the deficit became the subject of a political dispute shortly before the municipal and Senate elections. Industry and Trade Minister Karel Havlíček (ANO) said that a lower deficit would require cuts in spending on security, energy or transport investment, and STAN chairman Vít Rakušan described the planned deficit as an economic crime.[1][2] According to Havlíček, roughly 97 percent of the budget consists of mandatory statutory spending. [1]

Rakušan pointed out that, under the government's fiscal outlook, the economy would have to grow by two percent in the coming years to consolidate the budget, which in his view is not enough. [1]

The Národní rozpočtová rada stated that, owing to a loose budgetary policy, the expected collision with the debt brake has moved from 2037 to 2034. [1]

Opposition deputies wanted to convene an extraordinary session of the Chamber of Deputies over the budget, with a vote of no confidence in the government. [1]
