On Wednesday 30 September 2026 the Brno city councillors approved the start of a tender to select a contractor for completing the football centre in Brněnské Ivanovice. The completion is expected to cost roughly CZK 65.5 million and, according to the city, could be finished in 2027. The newspaper Deník reports that the work should take no longer than eight months from the time the contractor takes over the contract.[1][2]

The site is to gain two artificial-turf pitches with drainage and runoff systems. The main pitch will measure 115 by 76 metres and will be complemented by a reinforced-concrete stand for about 500 spectators; the second, training pitch will measure 76 by 51 metres. The pitches come with fencing, catch nets, lighting and substitutes' benches.[1][2]

According to a press release from the city hall, quoted by Mayor Markéta Vaňková (ODS), a new access road, pavements and 52 parking spaces, including accessible ones, are also to be built. The surroundings will undergo landscaping and planting work, including replacement greenery.[1][2]

Tomáš Aberl (TOP 09), the councillor responsible for sport, described the expansion as necessary to meet demand from footballers of all age groups. The site provides facilities for training in periods when natural grass cannot be used, and it currently has three artificial-surface pitches. It is used mainly by the Zbrojovka academy.[1][2]
