2026 Municipal Elections

Ahead of the municipal elections in October 2026, some voters received ballot papers with a printing error in their mailboxes: one side listed candidates for the municipal council of Stará Ves nad Ondřejnicí, while the other listed candidates from Kobeřice in the Opava region. Such ballots are invalid.[1] The municipality stated on its website that the error was caused by the supplier and occurred in a certain percentage of the packages. It asked voters to check both sides of the ballot; a correct ballot can be used, while an incorrect or doubtful one will be exchanged by the municipal office or the election commission at the polling station.[1][2] The issue was reported by Czech Radio – Radiožurnál. The election was called for Friday and Saturday, 9 and 10 October 2026.[1]
