Thalia Award 2026
On 3 October 2026 he received, at the National Theatre in Prague, the Thalia Award in the category of male performance in drama. He won the award for ten roles in the production Amadoka, whose three stories concern the past and present of Ukraine. Amadoka is part of a trilogy that also includes the productions Moskoviáda and All Quiet on the Western Front. [3] The jury praised the transformations of the characters and the ease with which he plays everything from an aggressor to a carefree girl.[1][2] Majer also said that his colleagues from the production, Martin Pechlát and Gabriela Míčová, have already won the Thalia Award. [3] According to Majer, the performances of the trilogy are sold out, which in his view shows that it makes sense to contribute a civic stance to the topic of the conflict in Ukraine. [3] In an interview for iDNES.cz, Majer said that what matters most to him about the award is the attention gained by the work of the director Dušan Pařízek and Divadlo X10. [3]
Majer said that he will place the glass sculpture in the actors' dressing room of Divadlo X10. The award was presented to him by the actress Simona Lewandowska.[1][2] Majer ended his thank-you speech with the cry "Glory to Ukraine!" [4]
