Municipal cemetery
In 2026 the town is completing the first stage of the cemetery's renewal, which cost roughly 15.6 million crowns. It added 160 places in columbaria, 51 coffin graves and 618 urn graves. The columbaria stand on the slope in five rows, and their front sides alternate between glass and stone. The grave areas are divided by hedges whose shape, seen from above, resembles fingerprints. According to the town hall's spokesperson, the cemetery is to undergo further substantial work.[1] According to town hall spokesperson Michal Švarc, building the memorial site cost 1.5 million crowns. [1] Next to the municipal cemetery a memorial site called Svatava was created, with a commemorative book titled Family Album, which commemorates women from the Svatava concentration camp buried in 1945 in a mass grave behind the cemetery wall.
