The coalition agreement in Kroměříž was signed by representatives of the ANO movement, of KDU-ČSL, TOP 09 and independents, of the grouping Občanští demokraté a kroměřížské osobnosti, of OK občané Kroměříže and of KM26. According to town hall spokesman Jan Vondrášek, the coalition would have 16 seats in the 27-member council. Tomáš Opatrný (ANO) is to remain mayor.[1]
Composition of the leadership
The deputy mayors are to be Pavel Motyčka (KDU-ČSL), Vladimíra Vondráčková (ANO) and Jan Hebnar (ODS). The members of the town board are to be Martin Bsonek and Dalibor Mráz (both ANO), Hugo Strachvic (TOP 09), Evžen Petřík (OK občané Kroměříže) and Karel Holík (KM26).[1][2] The coalition agreement also divides the portfolios of the members of the leadership.[1]
The constituent meeting of the council is to be held on Tuesday 3 November 2026. The coalition wants to present its programme statement within 30 days after it. Opatrný said that he interprets the election result as an instruction to continue working together for the citizens.[1]
Election result and opposition
ANO won eight seats in the election, Hlas pro Kroměříž five, and Zdravé Kroměřížsko, KDU-ČSL, TOP 09 and independents, and První volba pro Kroměříž a místní části three each. Hlas pro Kroměříž, Zdravé Kroměřížsko and První volba pro Kroměříž a místní části will go into opposition.[1][2]
According to iDNES.cz, before the signing these three groupings publicly offered the candidates of KDU-ČSL, TOP 09 and independents their support if they nominate Hugo Strachvic to head the town. Motyčka called the offer public pressure, and Strachvic said that he had not sought the office of mayor.[2]
