STV Group is a Czech arms group focused on the production of ammunition, explosives and small arms. It belongs to the holding STV Invest, whose owners are Martin Drda and Ludmila Drdová. The group also includes Poličské strojírny in the Svitavy area, where large-calibre ammunition is made and where the company also repairs military equipment and supplies spare parts. The company produces ammunition for small arms, medium-calibre ammunition, engineer, anti-tank, mortar, tank and artillery ammunition, plastic explosives, and small arms and anti-tank weapons. At the end of 2025 it had 570 employees.[1][2]
Supplies to Ukraine
According to the company's own statement, the outbreak of the war in Ukraine at the end of February 2022 had a major effect on its production and business activity. Since March 2022 it has supplied Ukraine mainly with ammunition and with tank and artillery equipment. According to the company, this was at first mostly resale of ammunition from stock and from third parties; since 2024 the great majority of sales have come from its own production.[1][2]
Financial results
According to the annual report published in the Collection of Documents, STV Group made a net profit of 7.5 billion crowns in 2025, an increase of almost 40 percent compared with the previous year. Revenue more than doubled to 24.4 billion crowns, compared with 11.6 billion crowns in 2024. The company described the past year as the most successful in its history and paid out dividends totalling 4.5 billion crowns.[1][2][3]
Although prices of military material on the market fell in 2025, the company's profitability still rose, which according to its statement was influenced mainly by the strategic decision to replace expensive foreign subcontracts with its own domestic production. The company therefore invested in its own capacity; the production of shell bodies for 155, 152 and 122 mm artillery ammunition is now fully localised, and preparations for complete self-sufficiency in smokeless powders and artillery fuzes have also advanced.[1][2]
Contracts for the Czech army
Within projects for the Czech army, STV Group was preparing to supply 155 mm artillery ammunition for Caesar guns, continued to supply ammunition for the RPG-7 and ballistic vests in series, and, by its own statement, is fulfilling contracts won in tenders for 120 mm tank ammunition for Leopard 2A4 tanks and for 30×165 mm ammunition.[1][2]
