Robert Křesťan is a singer, lyricist and guitarist of the band Druhá tráva.[1] The band was formed in 1991 and celebrates 35 years of existence in 2026.[1][2] In 2021 Křesťan was inducted into the Anděl Awards Hall of Fame.[2]

The albums Díl první from 2020 and Díl druhý from 2022 won Anděl awards. The first compiled cover versions, while the second brought mostly original repertoire.[3] They were produced by Eddie Stevens.[3]

The band recorded the new album Memphis in Tennessee under the producer Matt Ross-Spang, a four-time Grammy winner.[1] The recording took place over six days at the Southern Grooves studio.[1] Křesťan is the sole author of the lyrics; he wrote the music for nine songs together with Luboš Malina, Tomáš Liška and Luboš Novotný.[1][3] According to Křesťan, the aim was to capture the energy of playing together instead of digital editing afterwards.[3] About his stay in Memphis he said: "For me, the stay in Memphis was fascinating."[1] The album launch is planned for 7 November 2026 at O2 universum in Prague.[1]
