The chairman of the board of the state enterprise Václav Havel Airport Prague, Radomír Lašák, resigned after about three months in office for personal reasons. This was announced on 23 October 2026 by David Polák, spokesman of the Ministry of Finance. The ministry will announce a selection procedure for the vacant post. The spokesman did not say on what date Lašák leaves the airport's leadership.
Lašák had headed the enterprise since 1 August 2026 and replaced Jiří Pos. He took up the post a month earlier than originally intended. Because of his selection, the trade unions at the airport declared a strike alert from 21 July. They link him with the collapse of Czech Airlines, which he had headed earlier. One of the five union organisations ended the alert in mid-October; the other four remained in it.
The opposition ODS, which criticised Lašák's selection in the summer, described prime minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) as politically responsible for the destabilisation of the airport's leadership. In September the Ministry of Finance announced selection procedures for two board members and in August for three directors. In August the airport commissioned an external forensic audit of its management under the previous leadership. According to its partial results, from 2022 to July 2026 it awarded 267 contracts worth roughly 780 million crowns without a tender (see the partial audit results).
