The High Court in Olomouc rejected the complaint of a lawyer who is accused in the bitcoin case against the seizure of more than CZK 1.2 million in his bank accounts. It thereby upheld the decision of the Regional Court in Brno. According to Seznam Zprávy, which relied on the infoSoud court database, the court ruled in a closed session, and the database stated that the decision of the court of first instance was confirmed.[1]
High Court spokesman Stanislav Cik said that details would be provided only after the written decision has been prepared and sent to the parties to the proceedings.[1]
The money in two accounts was seized in May 2026 as substitute value by detectives of the Národní centrála proti organizovanému zločinu. According to the indictment, the amount in one account was CZK 662,653 and in the other CZK 537,505.[1] According to the website iDNES.cz, police are prosecuting this lawyer and the other accused in the case without detention; they face a prison sentence of five to twelve years.[2]
