The Úřad pro ochranu hospodářské soutěže (ÚOHS) decided on the objection by Pražské služby against a fine of CZK 300,000: it discontinued one part of the proceedings and in the other reduced the penalty to CZK 180,000.

The Úřad pro ochranu hospodářské soutěže partly upheld the objection by the municipal company Pražské služby against a CZK 300,000 penalty for construction work carried out under a framework agreement with the firm Japos-Stav. The office discontinued one part of the proceedings, confirmed the other and reduced the fine to CZK 180,000. The decision was reported by Pražské služby spokesman Alexandr Komarnický, who relied on the text of the office's decision.[1]
According to the spokesman, the office in the review proceedings accepted the company's argument about the sector exemption for energy recovery from waste. It therefore discontinued the proceedings in full in the part concerning work at the Průmyslová site on the waste-to-energy facility in Malešice.[1]
The remaining part concerns maintenance at the Pod Šancemi site. The spokesman said the office recognised several mitigating circumstances in it: when choosing the contractor the company approached five suppliers, the change in the firm's legal status occurred only during the term of the contract, and Pražské služby ended the contractual relationship themselves. According to him, the decision did not establish that the contract was overpriced or that any damage was caused.[1]
Pražské služby disagree with the legal interpretation in the remaining part. According to the spokesman, they will file an appeal with the ÚOHS chair within the statutory fifteen-day period in order to have the remaining penalty cancelled.[1]
Pražské služby are wholly owned by the Capital City of Prague. For 2025 they reported a profit after tax of roughly CZK 342.2 million on revenue of CZK 4.67 billion, consisting mainly of waste management services. At the end of 2025 they signed a new ten-year waste collection contract with Prague City Hall, valid from 1 August 2026.[1]
