On 27 October 2026 the PRO Jeseník group announced that, after the 2026 municipal elections, it would form the basis of the Jeseník town leadership together with the ANO movement. According to the daily iDNES and the Czech News Agency, the coalition is to hold 11 of the 21 seats on the council.[1][2]
Election result
PRO Jeseník won seven seats, as did the Jeseník srdcem association, which had led the town hall until now. According to the Czech News Agency, PRO Jeseník won narrowly, by 59 votes. ANO won four seats. Občané Jeseníku (KDU-ČSL), Náš Jeseník (Trikolora) and Nezávislí za Jeseník have one councillor each.[1][2]
Agreement
The PRO Jeseník leader Dušan Antálek said that the seven councillors of his group and the four ANO councillors form a majority, but that talks continue on broader cooperation and a possible enlargement of the coalition.[2] According to iDNES, Antálek is to become mayor, replacing the current mayor Zdeňka Blišťanová of Jeseník srdcem.[1]
According to its statement on social networks, PRO Jeseník had considered cooperation with both Jeseník srdcem and ANO. Jeseník srdcem demanded three seats on the town board and both deputy mayor posts, ANO two seats on the board and one deputy mayor post. PRO Jeseník named the scope of Jeseník srdcem's demands for posts and agreement on programme as the reasons for choosing ANO.[1][2] The ANO leader Vendula Sukupová said that PRO Jeseník had the greatest overlap with its programme. According to the Czech News Agency, ANO took part in the town leadership from 2014 to 2018.[2]
Priorities
The priorities of PRO Jeseník include the town's recovery after the floods, security and the management of public funds.[1][2] Jeseník srdcem is going into opposition. According to Zdeňka Blišťanová, it intends to monitor the town leadership's management of finances and to support good proposals regardless of who submits them.[1]
