Obvodní soud pro Prahu 6 is to hear, from 29 October 2026, the indictment of a former deputy director of the Central Military Hospital charged with forging a lustration certificate.

Obvodní soud pro Prahu 6 is the court to which the public prosecutor's office has submitted an indictment of the former deputy director for personnel matters of the Central Military Hospital, a colonel.[1][2] The man is charged with fraud, forgery and alteration of a public document, and with attempted further fraud in connection with a lustration certificate.[1][2]
Substance of the indictment
In August 2026 the Military Police announced that it was proposing the filing of an indictment and that the prosecuted offences go back to 2014.[1][2] According to the police, presenting a negative lustration certificate was a condition for attaining a rank and for promotion in the hospital, which looks after constitutional officials and war veterans.[1][2] The server iRozhlas.cz reported that the accused served for two years in the internal intelligence section of the State Security (StB), which persecuted opponents of the communist regime, and therefore could not, according to the server, obtain a clean lustration certificate.[1][2] Nevertheless he became a colonel and for ten years held the post of deputy director of the hospital for personnel matters, remaining in the post until the end of 2025, when his service commitment ended.[1][2] According to iRozhlas.cz he denies guilt and claims that, as a member of the previous management, he was an obstacle to the new management of the hospital.[1][2]
Hearing in court
Obvodní soud pro Prahu 6 is to begin hearing the indictment on 29 October 2026.[1][2] If found guilty, the accused faces up to eight years in prison.[1][2]
