The Sezemice bypass on the I/36 road in the Pardubice Region is a road construction project carried out by the Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD). It is to be 6.8 kilometres long, connect the roundabout near the village of Spojil with the section of the I/36 road beyond the village of Časy, and divert through traffic from the centres of Sezemice, Počaply and Časy. It will also link Pardubice to the D35 motorway towards Litomyšl.[1]

Construction began in October 2024. The contract worth CZK 838 million was won by an association of the firms M-Silnice, MI Roads and Doprastav. It comprises 56 construction objects, among them a 289-metre bridge over the Loučná river, the Zadní Lodrantka and the Mlýnský potok, four overpasses, an ecoduct for wildlife crossing and a grade-separated junction near Sezemice.[1]

Part of the bypass has been in operation since the end of August 2026. On 19 October 2026 the ŘSD announced that it would open the whole bypass on 2 November 2026, about half a year later than originally planned. The agency explains the delay by complications in founding the bridge structures, the discovery of unknown drainage systems and the widening of the bridges at Kladina and the village of Veská for safer pedestrian movement. In mid-October the final asphalt layers were being laid, and crash barriers, railings and road signs were being installed.[1][2]
