Kamil Pulec was an actor associated with the Slovácké divadlo in Uherské Hradiště. According to reports of 1 October 2026, he died aged 63.[1][3]
Life and theatre
He was born on 1 September 1963 in Prešov, moved with his parents to Hluboká nad Vltavou in 1969, and from 1978 to 1982 studied at a secondary technical school of construction in České Budějovice. His original profession was builder; he was not a trained actor.[1] He joined the Slovácké divadlo as a trainee after military service and worked on the Hradiště stage until 2017, with a break from 1989 to 1991, when he played at the Jihočeské divadlo in České Budějovice. Afterwards he worked in the building trade.[1]
For the role of Miloš Hrma in the production of Ostře sledované vlaky (Closely Watched Trains) he received the Czech Literary Fund Prize for a male acting performance in 1985. For the role of Lennie in Of Mice and Men he was given the Slovácký Oskar award in 1995, and for Samko in Gazdina roba the Největší z pierotů prize in 2000.[1][2] He also played Othello and the gamekeeper in The Cunning Little Vixen, Vztekloun in Cena facky and Winston Churchill in The King's Speech.[3] He wrote a book of verse, Nevyzpytatelné vlny lásky.[3]
Film and television
In minor roles he appeared, for example, in the films Artuš, Merlin a Prchlíci (1995), Klíček (2009) and Výjimečný stav (2024), and in the series Četnické humoresky, Případy 1. oddělení (2022), Náhradníci (2024) and Místo zločinu Zlín (2026).[1][3]
