Actor Kamil Pulec, who worked at the Slovácké divadlo in Uherské Hradiště until 2017, has died aged 63; the theatre announced his death on 1 October 2026.

Actor Kamil Pulec has died aged 63. His death was confirmed on 1 October 2026 by the Slovácké divadlo in Uherské Hradiště, where he worked until 2017. The funeral ceremony is to be held on Tuesday 6 October 2026 at 3 p.m. in the funeral hall in Uherské Hradiště – Mařatice.[1][2][3][4]

Life and theatre career

He was born on 1 September 1963 in Prešov. In 1969 he moved with his parents to Hluboká nad Vltavou, and from 1978 to 1982 he studied at a secondary technical school of construction in České Budějovice. He joined the Slovácké divadlo after military service as a trainee actor. Apart from a break between 1989 and 1991, when he worked at the Jihočeské divadlo in České Budějovice, he remained on the Uherské Hradiště stage until 2017. He then left the theatre and worked in the construction trade.[1][2]

On stage he played, among other roles, Samek in Gazdina roba, Othello, Miloš Hrma in Closely Watched Trains, the forester in The Cunning Little Vixen and Winston Churchill in The King's Speech. He also wrote a collection of verse, Nevyzpytatelné vlny lásky.[3]

  • 1995: Slovácký Oskar (Lenny in the production of Of Mice and Men).
  • 2000: the Největší z pierotů award (Samek in Gazdina roba).

He appeared in minor roles in the films Artuš, Merlin a Prchlíci (1995), Klíček (2009) and Výjimečný stav (2024) and in the series Četnické humoresky, Případy prvního oddělení (2022), Náhradníci (2024) and Místo zločinu Zlín (2026).[1][3]
