Jan Horník is the long-serving mayor of the municipality of Boží Dar in the Ore Mountains in the Karlovy Vary Region [1][3]. He led it for 35 years [1].
In the municipal elections in October 2026 his association Náš domov Boží Dar won no seats [3]. After the elections the previous opposition is taking over the running of the municipality [1][3]. In an interview dated 11 October 2026 Horník said he had expected the defeat [2].
