Ivan Bartoš is a politician for the Czech Pirate Party. The server iDNES.cz describes him as a former party leader, and the Czech News Agency reports that he is a member of the Chamber of Deputies defence committee.

According to the Czech News Agency, on 1 October 2026 he and the former defence minister Jana Černochová (ODS) criticised the cancellation of the contract for 185 armoured vehicles with an estimated value of CZK 24.7 billion. Once the shortcomings, which include a missing financial analysis, are remedied, the ministry plans to announce a new tender. [1] In the contract register the ministry gave economic circumstances, among other things, as the reason for the cancellation. [1] The ministry of defence announced the procurement procedure in March 2025. [1] The contract concerned vehicles for combat engineers, military medics, special forces and the Military Police. [1]

According to a spokesperson for the ministry of defence, the department is not abandoning the need to acquire the vehicles, and the cancellation of the tender does not affect the procurement schedule. [1]

Jana Černochová described the justification for the cancellation of the tender in the contract register as too general. [1]
